Bryan Schmitz, DVM

Dr. Bryan Schmitz grew up in Darke County, Ohio on his family’s dairy farm which his brother still owns and operates.  He graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelors in  Agriculture Engineering, and later with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001.  After graduation he practiced dairy production medicine in Napoleon, Ohio for two years before getting married and moving to Indiana.  Dr. Schmitz then worked as a mixed animal practitioner at the Lynn Veterinary Hospital until 2007 when he purchased the Hartford Animal Clinic.  In June 2013 he opened a second office in Farmland.  He and his wife, Camela, have five beautiful children, 3 spoiled house cats, and two crazy dogs in their home near Economy, Indiana.

Camela Schmitz, DVM

Dr. Camela Schmitz learned the value of hard work on her family’s dairy farm located in eastern Ohio.  She graduated from Mt. Vernon Nazarene College with a Bachelors in Biology, and then moved on to Ohio State where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001.  Following graduation she worked at a mixed animal practice in Ashland, Ohio before moving to Indiana.  Dr. Schmitz worked at Kurtz Veterinary Clinic in Hagerstown for two years before joining her husband in practice.  In between running two clinics and chasing after her children, Dr. Camela enjoys gardening.

Dustin Decker, DVM

Dr. Dustin Decker joined Hartford Animal Clinic in 1997 after graduating Purdue University's Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program. He is the father of 3 children and his wife is a middle school teacher.

Joined team in 2008, very good at communicating with clients. Heather currently has 1 cat a husband and 2 children.  her favorite breed is a german shepherd. she enjoys decorating and gardening in her spare time.

Kimberly Montgomery

Kimberly joined our team in 2009 as a high school student  working as a kennel tech and assistant. Over the years she has climbed our ranks and she graduated the Veterinary Practice Management Program at Purdue University in 2018. Kimberly resides in Blackford County with her husband and son. At their home they have dogs, cats, chickens and hogs. "I love the family atmosphere of Hartford Animal Clinic and the diversity of what we see every day".

Kristin Coons

Kristin joined the Hartford Animal Clinic team in 2016 after graduating from Veterinary Technician School in 2015. Kristin and her husband are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first daughter who is due to make her appearance in April 2018. Kristin currently has several cats, both indoors and out, and 3 dogs at home. She enjoys swimming, traveling and being outside whenever possible. "My favorite part of working at Hartford Animal Clinic is  that that I enjoy coming to work every day because our team is so much like family I really enjoy my job".

Lizzie graduated cosmetology school from Tricoci University in 2017. Lizzie and her fiancée welcomed their first child into the world in 2018 and she absolutely adores being a mommy.  Lizzie currently has 1 dog and 2 cats at home and she enjoys swimming and being outdoors in her free time.
