Dr. Camela Schmitz learned the value of hard work on her family's dairy farm located in eastern Ohio. She graduated from Mt. Vernon Nazarene College with a Bachelors in Biology, and ten mvoed on the The Ohio State University where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Following graduation she worked at a mixed animal practice in Ashland, Ohio before moving to Indiana. Dr. Schmitz worked at Kurtz Veterinary Clinic in Hagerstown for two years before hoining her husband i practice. In between running two clinics and chasing after her children and pets, Dr. Camela enjoys gardening.

Bryan Schmitz, DVM
Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Bryan Schmitz grew up in Darke County, Ohio on his family's dairy farm which his brother still owns and operates. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's in Agriculture Engineering, and later with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. After graduation he practiced dairy production medicine in Napoleon, Ohio for two years before getting married and moving to Indiana. Dr. Schmitz then worked as a mixed animal practitioner at Lynn Veterinary Hospital until 2007 when he purchased the Hartford Animal Clinic. In June 2013 he opened a second office in Farmland. He and his wife, Camela, have five beautiful children, three house cats, and two crazy dogs in their home in Economy, Indiana.

Owner and Veterinarian

Dustin Decker, DVM
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Dustin Decker joined Hartford Animal Clinic in 1997 after graduating from Purdue University's Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program. He and his wife, a middle school teacher, are residents of neighboring Delaware County. They are the proud parents of three amazing children. He has always been actively involved with 4-H, and loves working with the kids and their animals. Dr. Decker also enjoys spending time with family and watching Purdue sports.  

Emily Dill, RVT
Practice Manager

Emily grew up in Blackford County. She currently lives in Wells County with her husband and their 2 dogs and 5 cats. Her two adult children share her love of animals. A passion for animals took her to Purdue University's Veterinary Technology Program where she graduated in 1994. She gained experience at several different clinics and then taught at The Vet Tech Institute for many years. She began working as Practice Manager in mid 2020, dividing her time between Hartford Animal Clinic and Hartford Veterinary Services of Farmland. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family, reading, and being outside.

Natalie Slusher, RVT
Registered Veterinary Technician

Natalie grew up in Wells County. She still resides there with her husband and three adorable children. She has two dogs, two cats, pigs and cows. Natalie received her associate degree in Veterinary Technology from The Vet Tech Institute in 2009. After her externship at Kurtz Veterinary Clinic, she came to work at Hartford Animal Clinic. After getting some experience as an RVT, she began to work with students from The Vet Tech Institute on their farm practicum. She left clinic for a couple of years to teach vet tech students full time, but missed the atmosphere of clinic, the clients and their pets. She returned to Hartford Animal Clinic in 2016. Outside of work, Natalie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and loves being outdoors.

Bridget Smith
Veterinary Assistant

Bridget went to school and graduated with a degree in Graphic Design in 1990. She began working at Hartford Animal Clinic in 2008, with no previous experience in veterinary medicine. Since then, she has become an integral part of the staff, working as a veterinary assistant. She loves being a wife, mother and grandmother, with family being the center of her life. In her spare time she enjoys camping, kayaking, cooking, and being outdoors. Her favorite part of working at Hartford Animal clinic is "working with the family".

Heather Rogers
Client Care Specialist

Heather lives in Blackford County with her husband. Her two adult children still keep her very busy. She has two sweet kitties, Philip and Leo, that keep her company at home. Heather has an Associate in Applied Science with a Medical Specialty from Ivy Tech State College. She began working at Hartford Animal Clinic in 2008, after many years of working in customer service. We are lucky to have her on our team due to her love of working with clients. She is an amazing baker and makes sure the staff gets their weekly dose of sweets. In her spare time she enjoys decorating and gardening.

Kimberly Montgomery
Client Care Specialist & Veterinary Assistant

Kimberly lives in Blackford County with her husband and son. They enjoy spending time at home with their dogs, cats, chickens and hogs. Kimberly has worked at Hartford Animal Clinic since 1999, when she was a high school student. She started out working in our kennel. She had such an affinity for working with animals, that she has stayed with us and now rotates between veterinary assisting and taking care of clients. She graduated the Veterinary Practice Management Program at Purdue University in 2018, allowing her take on several of the day to day managerial tasks.

Kristin Coons
Veterinary Assistant

Kristin graduated in 2015, from the Veterinary Technician Program at Brown Mackie College in Fort Wayne. She did her externship and was later hired at Pipe Creek Animal Clinic.  She got married and moved to Blackford County in 2016. At which time she also started her career at Hartford Animal Clinic. She since has had beautiful daughter. She shares her home with 3 dogs, and 4 cats. Outside of work she enjoys time with her family, working out, reading and spending time at the lakes in Northern Indiana. Kristin is a valuable asset to Hartford Animal Clinic and we are lucky to have her.

Lizzie Mattson
Client Care Specialist

Lizzie has grown up in Blackford County and still resides here with her adorable son and fiancé. She attended Purdue Calumet. She has a dog named Charlie, and two

cats, Minnie & Maui. She joined the Hartford Animal Clinic in 2018 as a client care specialist and loves working with clients and seeing the many different animals that we care for. In her spare time she loves to thrift shop, decorate and organize. She also loves everything Disney.

Tori Revolt
Client Care Specialist & Veterinary Assistant

Tori is originally from Muncie, but moved to Blackford County in 2015. She lives here with her husband and two adorable little girls. She studied Animal Sciences at Purdue University and has always had a love of animals. She first began working in the veterinary field as a high school student. She has been with Hartford Animal Clinic since 2015 and works primarily as a Client Care Specialist, but is also able to help as a veterinary assistant. In her time outside of work she loves being with her family, both two and four legged. She enjoys all species of animals and shares her home with dogs, cats, rats, fish and a ball python.
