Annual physical exams are important throughout your pet's life. The doctor will watch out for issues like dental disease, allergies, and arthritis just to name a few. Sometimes conditions like thyroid disorders or heart disease may be detected on physical exam. We will also discuss any changes in your pet's lifestyle and help you decide what sort of preventive care would be ideal for your family's pet.
Preventive care includes services like vaccinations, parasite treatments, and laboratory testing. The care that is recommended will depend on your pet's risk factors for certain diseases.
Dental health is important to an animal's comfort and longevity. We can provide you with tools and advice to help slow the progression of dental disease. Many pets, especially smaller dogs, will require dental cleaning under anesthesia occasionally in order to keep their teeth and gums healthy.
Gas anesthesia is used in order to make our surgeries as safe as possible. We perform soft tissue surgeries such as spays, neuters, and mass removal. Some orthopedic surgeries can also be performed in our clinic, including fracture repair and lateral suture cruciate ligament repair (ACL repair).
In House Labs and Radiology
We are pleased to offer in house labs and radiology at both clinics.
Labs include heartworm testing, feline leukemia/feline immunodeficiency virus testing, fecal testing, routine bloodwork, and more.
Our in house x-ray machines allow detections of broken bones, cancer masses, and obstructions to name a few.
We provide 24 hour emergency services to our large animal clients.
There is always a doctor on call to answer small animal questions, and we refer to VCA Northwood Animal Hospital in Anderson for after hours care of pets.
Please feel free to bring an emergency into the clinic during business hours. A phone call beforehand can help us to be prepared for your arrival.
